Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints look to global conference as a time of revelation

This coming October 6th, ten thousands of members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints across Europe are preparing for the 188th semiannual General Conference.

This conference is an opportunity for Church members to receive guidance, learn more of Jesus Christ and come together as one body of half a million members in Europe and over 16 million worldwide. The conference is comprised of five sessions: four general sessions, and one session for female members of the church. People from around the world travel to attend General Conference in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. Each session is also translated and broadcast in over 80 languages throughout the world.

Church members all over the globe look forward to general conference as a time to reflect on their own lives and how they can strengthen their relationships with God, family, and their community. Many look to conference as a time to receive answers from God and to understand more fully how He wants them to live. When preparing for conference, Adrian Rojas Rodriguez of Spain explained, “I write down questions for current things going on in my life that I know will be answered in the coming conference. It’s how I know what Heavenly Father expects of me for my life.”

For the Pfeiffer family in Germany, conference is a special chance, “to listen to the prophets and to be involved.” During the weeks and months following the conference, the Pfeiffer family along with their congregation, study the words spoken during conference at their Sunday meetings. This helps them remember the lessons taught and the guidance they received. The semiannual global general conference is a special time for believers across all nations, including Europe. The lessons taught, and the personal revelation received helps shape their lives for the months and years to come.
