Local dignitaries attend Aberdeen Conference

Over 300 members from congregations of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from the Aberdeen, Scotland area,  Elgin, Inverness and Invergordon attended a series of conferences at the Church centre at Anderson Drive, Aberdeen at the weekend.

Special instruction was given by Elder Hans T Boom, European leader of the Church residing in the Netherlands, who served a full-time mission in London in 1982.   The theme of his instruction on Sunday was the atonement of Jesus Christ in our lives and he encouraged members to take advantage of the atonement that their lives may be in harmony with the gospel of Jesus Christ,  to share their personal feelings with all who are willing to listen.

A number of local civic dignitaries, including the Lord Provost, George Adam, were in attendance at the Sunday session of the conference.

Church leader Adam L Hull, commenting about the conference said, “ It has been a wonderful time to reflect on the lives of so many local young men and women who have given up their time to share the gospel  with the world."
