New Church leaders for Cheltenham

Members of the Cheltenham congregations have new Church leaders following the release of President Ben Lowater and his counsellors Rob Biggs and Mark Austin who served together for 8 years. Andrew Brown has been called as the new Stake President, with Ian Retallick and Aaron Mulligan. The new presidency was called and set apart by Elder Timothy Dyches, a member of the Europe Area Presidency and Elder Massimo De Feo, Area Seventy from Rome, at an area conference held in October.

President Brown (48) is currently serving as the bishop of the Swindon congregation. Married to his wife Rachel for 26 years and father to Zachary (17), Madissa (12) and Aimee (8). President Brown is a self-employed business consultant, spending much of his time working in London. He served as a full-time missionary in Frankfurt, Germany from 1985-1986 and has previously served in many Church leadership roles as a bishop and in area priesthood leadership duties, including an area youth leader.

Says President Brown: “I am excited and humbled by this calling to serve the Lord and the saints in this area.  I am sure that the Lord has great blessings in store for us as we pursue His will in our Stake.  As a presidency we will work to support the local congregations in their pursuit of the Lord’s plans in this area.”

Ian Retallick (53) of the Evesham congregation, is a sales director in the lighting industry and has been married to his wife Carla for 21 years. They are the parents of Claire (20), Paul (18) who is currently serving a full-time mission in Poland, Warsaw and Jess (13). President Retallick has served in many leadership positions in the Church on a local and area level.

Aaron Mulligan (33) is a member of the Cheltenham congregation and is a medical sales manager. Married to Ruth for 12 years, they are the parents of Hanna (10), Leah (9), Jonas (7) Naomi (4), Mary (2) and newborn baby Luke. President Mulligan served a full-time mission in Edinburgh, Scotland from 1999-2000. He has previously served as an area youth leader and in priesthood leadership roles.
