New leader for Farnborough

Giles Johnson has been called as the new bishop for the Farnborough congregation in the Reading area. He was previously a counsellor to outgoing bishop, Lee Rushforth, who served in the role since 2008.

Bishop Johnson works fulltime as an assistant vice president in investment banking with Credit Suisse. He expects his new calling to provide a rich opportunity to work with local civic leaders in the community.

Recent examples include Farnborough ward pitching-in to clear fields and brambles at the Catholic church’s local Benedictine abbey, and collecting for this year’s Poppy Appeal with the Royal British Legion.

Serving as counselors in the new bishopric are Chris Ratliff and Martin Corbishley
