New musical raises £300 for local Children's Hospice

On Saturday 2nd August the original musical, “No More Alone”, was performed at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at Mannamead Road, Plymouth, and raised £300 in donations for the Children’s Hospice South West.

The musical was written and composed by member Sheri McMurtrey, alongside Sally Groom and Liam Doherty, from the Newton Abbot congregation.    Sister McMurtrey and her husband are serving a two year full-time mission on behalf of the Church throughout Devon and Cornwall.   Sister McMurtrey is a professional cellist with a great love for music and collaborated with the two members, Sally and Liam, who came up with this original work.

Those attending found the musical moving and uplifting with a main storyline that dealt with overcoming anger and despair by forgiving one another.

Zoe Partridge and Liz Buckingham from the Children’s Hospice attended the evening’s performance and gratefully received the audience donations.
