New Stake Presidency Called for Newcastle Under Lyme

After serving on the Stake Presidency of the Newcastle Under Lyme Stake for over 9 years, Kevin Dowd, Dennis Hoar and John Gardiner were released on Sunday 27th November.

Elder Causse of the Area Presidency and Elder Boutoille, Area Seventy, called Brett Boydell as the new Stake President.  President Boydell, 36, is a car designer and he and his wife, Amanda, have four children. Prior to the call, he was serving as Bishop of the Crewe Ward.  Jason Basford was called as first counselor. President Basford, 33, a building surveyor, was also serving as Bishop of the Wrekin Ward. He and his wife Elisabet have three children. Stephen Holland, second counselor, an IT technician, was the longest serving member of the Stake High Council, and served as a Bishop of the Stoke Ward. President Holland and his wife Jeanette have four children.

The first order of business for the new Stake Presidency was to seek inspiration for their own replacements as two Bishops, and a member of the Stake High Council, were needed!

The new Presidency feel blessed to serve in this capacity at this time, and are humbled by the example set by the previous Stake Presidency. They are very excited about the vision they share for the Newcastle Under Lyme Stake to “ Unite and go forward”.

They hope to strengthen the Stake by an increased Temple focus, effective Ward Missionary work and strengthening families through reliance on the Lord.
