Young Woman Finds New Ways to Serve on the Sabbath

Whilst technology can provide nothing but empty distractions for our youth, it can also be used as a wonderful tool for spreading the gospel, and for keeping the Sabbath Day holy. Indeed, one young woman is finding new ways to serve, despite the distractions.

Leanna Evans, 15, from the Manchester congregation, is using the technology at her fingertips to create a gospel video as a way of keeping the Sabbath Day holy. After creating her video, she then posts it on YouTube as a creative new way to share her testimony and spread the gospel.

When asked about her inspiration for this innovative form of service, Leanna replied; “I was bored after church on Sunday afternoon and instead of going on my phone or doing nothing, I wanted to do something productive. I chose to do a video because it's the easiest way to share a message and it is also more interesting for people to learn about the gospel that way.”

Her video, ‘Signs of the Second Coming LDS’, shows various graphics and images captioned by scriptures, describing the signs preceding the Saviour’s Second Coming, as described in the Bible and the Book of Mormon.  The subject choice was largely inspired by Leanna’s seminary lessons that week, and her desire to share her knowledge with others.
