Aberdeen's Santa Float Raises Funds for Local Charity

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ Santa Float has once again been making its rounds of the Bridge of Don Aberdeen area with their Santa Float Fund Raiser from 4th - 15th December each weekday evening.

This year the congregation was fundraising for "Instant Neighbour" a non-profitable organisation that helps and supports the local community.  Along with helping people set up homes with low cost second hand furniture, their Food Bank also operates for anyone who is struggling to buy food for their family, which has seen a 30%  increase in the past year in usage for food since the downturn of the Oil and Gas Industry in the region.

The Bridge of Don congregation of the Church are grateful for the continued generosity of the Bridge of Don community who support their fund raising for charity with their Santa Float, which has been running for more than 25 years. Regrettably, several nights with our Santa Float were cancelled this year due to treacherous snow and ice, but it was nevertheless a successful event with many members braving the difficult weather conditions to try to make a difference in the local community and raising over £1700.
