Farnborough's Christmas Carols

On Saturday, 10th December members from the Farnborough Ward, Reading Stake, raised their voices singing Christmas carols.

Singing at the Princes Mead shopping mall, Farnborough, the local shoppers enjoyed the morning listening to the ward choir as they went from shop to shop within the indoor centre.

The choir consisted of members of all ages and they lifted the spirits of those passing by and those people stopping to listen to show their appreciation.  The numerous shoppers looking to provide a donation were directed to the ‘wishing well’ positioned next to the choir that collects for the local charity, Phylis Tuckwell Hospice, where people gave generously.

Bishop Lee Rushforth said, ‘It was a wonderful opportunity to remind our local community the meaning of Christmas by singing the much loved traditional carols’ and he continued by saying, ‘We were grateful for all those that donated money to the local charity and we hope our singing cheered the hearts of many’.
