'Lamb of God ' Concerts

The British Saints Symphony Choir & Orchestra is a group of singers and musicians (and friends) from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout the UK who gather to perform uplifting music that is spiritually inspiring, moving and powerful.

The BSSCO’s next performances are for the European concert-hall premiere of ‘Lamb of God’, a musical work for choir, orchestra, soloists and narrators written and composed by LDS composer, Rob Gardner.  They have gathered one Saturday a month for the last six months, in order to rehearse for their upcoming concerts.

The music of ‘Lamb of God’ recounts the events of key events and the final days of the life of Jesus Christ through the eyes of those who loved Him and knew Him best: Peter, John, Thomas, Mary and Martha of Bethany, Mary Magdalene, and His mother Mary.

The concerts will be performed at the beautiful Town Hall, Birmingham on Saturday 30 May at 2pm and 7pm.

Tickets are available from www.one-stage.com. Tickets are £11/£13 – with groups of 4+ receiving £1 off per ticket.

The participants represent 36 different congregations from England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland as well as the United States, Latvia, Portugal and a few other countries.  There are also a number of friends and special guests in the sixty-seat orchestra.  The choir itself features over 90 young adult voices.

Some feedback from these concerts included the following comments:

“I just wanted to thank you for a tremendous, memorable and spiritual night! Please pass on my thanks to all the participants.  It was a very professional performances and it was an honour and privilege to witness the musical.”

“…absolutely brilliant!  You could feel the power of Christ’s words through the music. Outstanding performance.”

Last year, the BSSCO performed ‘Lamb of God’ in Europe for the first time at Watford Chapel and smaller ‘choir’ concerts in Newcastle-under-Lyme and Manchester Stake centres.  Recently, the choir prepared for the May concerts by performing in Sunderland .
