New bishop for Bangor congregation

On Sunday 8th June 2014, Alan Puckrin was called as Bishop of the Bangor 1st congregation of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Roger Whittaker and Simon Noble were called to be his counsellors.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints does not have a paid ministry therefore Bishop Puckrin will continue to run his own business, in addition to his calling as the spiritual leader of the members of the Church. In addressing the congregation on Sunday, Bishop Puckrin expressed his love for the Saviour Jesus Christ and for the members he will serve. He further expressed his gratitude to his wife Gail for her support and to their two sons.

During the service, President James McCrudden, President of the Church in Northern Ireland, thanked the outgoing bishop, Ben Noble and his counsellors, for the work they have done over the past 5 years. He further expressed his confidence that Bishop Puckrin had been called of God to lead the members of Bangor 1st congregation.
