Recently, the women of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Rugby became aware that the Rugby Foodbank needed soap. They organised a project encouraging people to donate soap for this good cause. In just a few weeks, a total of almost 100 soap items had been collected and these have now been handed over to the Rugby Foodbank.

Kambria Layman, aged 13, who was involved in the project commented, “Everyone deserves to feel clean after having a nice warm bath or shower, it is hard to do this without soap. I'm glad that we could share what we have with others.”
Bishop Paul Hughes, the local leader of the Church in Rugby said, “We have been involved in many projects over the years to help those in need and the women in our church have helped to provide the practical necessities for those that are most vulnerable in our local community.”
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is well known for its charitable work both locally and internationally and members are encouraged to be involved in projects to help the underprivileged in society.
