The British Pageant Helps Family Through Difficult Times

When Mark Stewart, husband, father, and regional ecclesiastical leader in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, first saw the British Pageant in 2013, it was shortly after being diagnosed with cancer.  His 13-year-old son, Jared, wanted to be part of the Pageant cast, but family circumstances wouldn’t allow it.  Jared was devastated.

As the family attended the Pageant four years ago, the passion, spirit, and confirmation they felt from God was real.  “I knew God cared about me and I was important to Him.  It resonated through the voices of the actors through the legacy of those pioneers.”  said President Stewart, from Richmond, North Yorkshire.

The opportunity was not going to be missed again by the Stewart family when the announcement came of the Pageant returning in 2017.  “I would have driven Jared to America to be part of this momentous occasion,” his father proclaimed.

The British Pageant is a heartfelt story about the arrival of the first missionaries of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons) who came from the USA to Preston, Lancashire.  The compelling and engaging story, music and dancing will take you back to an exciting time in British history.

Mark Stewart says, “The British Pageant 2017 will change how you feel about yourself and connect you back to God.”  Jared Stewart adds,  “ It is one of the most powerful performances you’ll see in your life.  You won’t regret seeing it.”

The Pageant runs 1-5 and 8-12 August on the Preston Temple Grounds in Chorley.  Tickets are free of charge.
