Young Girl waits 4 years to be Baptized

Lauren More is an exceptional young woman.  She waited patiently for four years until her 16th birthday when she could be baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The Kirkcaldy Ward in the Dundee Stake was filled to capacity, on the night of the baptism, including school and Church friends, family members and well-wishers who had travelled from nearby wards and stakes.

Members of the Priest Quorum, aged 16-18 years, demonstrated their leadership strengths by conducting the meeting, organising the baptism and directing the music.  A group of twenty two youth performed an impressive impromptu musical item.

Bishop Richard Scharff asked Lauren to turn towards the congregation and say why she thought so many people were in the congregation.  “Because they love me” was her simple answer.   Lauren has endeared herself to young and old by her focus and commitment to the gospel, her willingness to share her testimony without embarrassment, and her open and friendly personality.
