Young Wandsworth members help Local School

A group of Young Single Adults, aged 18 to 26 years, with full-time missionaries from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Wandsworth, met at Sellincourt Primary School in the Tooting area of south central London on a recent Saturday to paint exterior walls and landscape the play areas of the school.  A total of 26 young people worked for four hours providing a much needed clean up.  The parents and teachers at the Primary School also took part in the project.

It was a great opportunity to foster friendship with the community and demonstrate the Church’s commitment to service.  The service project was facilitated by one of the Young Single Adults who is a teacher at the school.  It was a very rewarding experience, all the more so as some of the youngest members of the community are the recipients of the work carried out.  The teachers were very appreciative of the contribution made by members of the Church and, indeed, referred to this in the school's newsletter.  It is very likely that the group will return at some future date to carry out further service.
